CNC units are supplied with 5 electrical axes (revolving and linear), which are matched with a spindle placed in a rotary table, which has also n’ 2 electrical turns, giving a big flexibility to the movements. This elevated movement skill of the head, combined with the movement possibility of the rotary table’s spindles, allows the approaching of the tool to any kind of shape including really complex shapes which are hardly workable even for a manual operator.
The rotary tables and the new C.N.C. units
This new solution was created in 2004, tested and improved through the years with the target of approaching the products, which would be impossible to handle with a static buffing unit, to the automatic buffing system.
C.N.C. buffing unit transformed the way of thinking about buffing, in relation to the use of the rotating tables. With the C.N.C. units there is no more need to built the rotary tables with as many static buffing units as operations of the product’s polishing cycle.
Thanks to the interpolation of the electrical axes, the C.N.C. buffing unit is distinguished by the possibility to perform an elevate number of movement sequences. Therefore it performs an articulated processing cycle without any interruptions and any modifications or manual adjustments by the operator.
Due this features, this model of buffing unit is used in a large list of sectors. The use of the C.N.C. unit is extremely advantageous for the buffing of pieces with complex shapes, offering high productivity and quality.
It is comparable to a buffing robotic cell
The completeness and the great number of operations that the C.N.C. buffing Rotary Table Machine can do easily, allow to compare it against the movement possibility of a buffing robotic cell; with the significant difference of the productivity/investment value between both machines.
Rotary table has the cycle time piece divided in the different units, instead what happens in the robotic cell, where the full cycle time is made by the robot. Roughly, to keep the same production of a CNC machine with robotic cells, would be necessary as many robotic cells as working units has the CNC rotary table.
Programming facility with the auto-learning system.

Thank to the auto-learning system the creation of the working cycle for every C.N.C. unit is quickly, easy and accurate. The operator will not have to learn any programming language, but he will only have to plan sequentially the movement typology, that the unit has to do, in a chart and to plan manually, or with the auto-learning key, the geometrical points of contact mops/piece.
Fast machine set up.
Every time that a work program is used the machine set-up is extremely fast, thank to the unit’s auto-learning being a suitable machine for small lots, something any day more often in the industries.
The industrial computer, which allows the interface between the operator and the PLC, do not has limit for the storage capacity of programs. Every time that the production might be changed, the previously elaborated program simply restarts, and suddenly the machine is consequentially ready in the right position again.

The machine in question combines the features of the rotating table with the possibility of using polishing units equipped with double brush. The brushes are supplied with forward and oscillation movements, which are controlled by axis with programmable speed and stroke. The fixtures installed on these tables have features that allow the piece to be thoroughlypolished by sinking it, using the units with opposing double brush.
Thus the use of this kind of tables is particularly suitable for the polishing and brushing of round pipes – straight or bent – which are used frequently in faucets and sanitary fittings, such as kitchen pipes.

C.O.S.M.A.P. continuous rotary tables combine large production scale – typical of these types of machines – with flexibility and placement speed.
